Duchess of Cambridge Swaps Presents With 85-Year-Old Phone Friend in Batley

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have embarked on a three-day tour around the country on the Royal Train.

On Monday evening the Duchess, who has been having private chats as a volunteer during lockdown, met with Len Gardner, a full-time carer from Batley in West Yorkshire.

Kate first spoke to Mr Gardner on the phone back in May as part of her work for the Royal Voluntary Service. Mr Gardner looks after his wife Shirley, 84, who has Alzheimer's.

The royal couple exchanged presents with Mr Gardner on his doorstep in Batley, West Yorkshire.
