Transcript: "Groundhog Day is upon us! The quirky tradition that's been around since 1887, where Punxsutawney Phil, our favorite groundhog, becomes a weatherman for a day. Originating from the ancient Christian tradition of Candlemas, German settlers in Pennsylvania added their twist, using a groundhog instead of a hedgehog to forecast the weather. Every February second, Phil steps out from his burrow in Gobbler's Knob, Pennsylvania. If he sees his shadow, we brace for six more weeks of winter. If not, we rejoice for an early spring. Though Phil's track record is a modest 39 percent, the spectacle continues to captivate nationwide attention. The last time Phil predicted an early spring was back in 2020.
