JNR Series 485 Rolling Train Name Sign 485系幕回し in Aomori

Japan National Railway's series 485 EMU train sets were originally designed for mainline express service in 1964, and over 1500 vehicles were built until 1979. They had roll-sign showing train name on the front of the train. Originally it showed only in characters, but from 1978, it was changed to ones with colorful illustration.

One winter day in Aomori station in the north of Honshu island, the trains are badly delayed due to the snow storm, train driver showed me some old illustrated name signs which had been already abolished at that time.
