In this video, we explain how to test the photocell sensor on an oil burner using a multimeter.
A photocell is a light dependent resistor. When the flame produces light inside the combustion chamber, the internal resistance of the photocell decreases. When there is no flame, resistance increases.
We demonstrate how to measure resistance in ohms and confirm whether the sensor is responding correctly to light.
