1. You must have your driver's license with you whenever you drive.
2. To turn left, you must first give the right-of-way to all oncoming vehicles close enough to be dangerous before making the turn.
3. If you are driving in the fast lane, move to the right when another driver is close behind you and wishes to pass.
4. The driver of a vehicle cannot wear a headset, or earplugs, or talk on a handheld phone while driving.
5. You must turn your lights on any time you can't see at least 1000 feet ahead.
6. Dim your lights by switching to low beams before you are 500 feet from a vehicle coming toward you.
7. Don't drive in the blind spot of another driver.
8. When two vehicles meet on a steep one-lane mountain road where neither can pass, the vehicle facing downhill must back up until the vehicle going uphill can pass. (The driver going downhill has the greater amount of control when backing up.)
9. When you see or hear an emergency vehicle, pull as close to the right edge of the road as possible and stop until the emergency vehicle(s) has passed.
10. Bicycle operators and passengers under 17 years of age (including children in attached bicycle seats or in towed trailers) shall wear a properly fitted and fastened bicycle helmet.
11. It is illegal to drive with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) that is 0.08% or more.
