“This Administration envisions a future where every Filipino, no matter where they live, has access to the urgent care that they need. A future where our healthcare system is proactive,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. conveyed during the inauguration of the Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Service (BUCAS) Center, reaffirming the Administration’s commitment to make quality public health care services accessible to Filipinos across the country.

In his remarks, the President emphasized that the center is more than just a new building; it is a capable facility designed to bridge the gap between primary care facilities and higher-level health institutions by providing urgent health care services for minor surgeries and other ancillary services.

“This ensures that focus shall be given to patients needing special care, while still providing proper medical services for those with less complicated cases. Because our health cannot wait, these services will be provided throughout the week, including weekends,” he said.

With 31 BUCAS Centers currently operating nationwide as of September this year, President Marcos Jr. reassured the government’s readiness to build more specialty centers, whether in the city or in the most remote provinces, to provide Filipinos with the healthcare they deserve.

“For these are more than just about the number of centers, or the amount of funding. It is about replacing uncertainty and worry with a quiet sense of reassurance that help is close by. It is about the lives that we change and the hope that we restore,” he added.

“Today, we provide Filipinos with hope. Hope that medical care is within their grasp because of what we have built here, in what we have come to call ‘Bagong Pilipinas’,” he continued.

In addition to the BUCAS Center, President Marcos Jr. provided check assistance worth PhP200.5 million to the Philippine Heart Center (PHC). The Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP) and the National Kidney Transplant Institute (NKTI) also received PhP185.20 million and PhP134.30 million, respectively. These grants aim to further enhance the institutions’ excellence in disease prevention, diagnostics and treatment.

Moreover, he inspected the Education, Training and Research Service (ETRS) Simulation Facility, a state-of-the-art learning environment that provides trainees and mentors with hands-on experiential learning. These include advanced simulation tools, virtual and augmented reality, as well as interactive environments that mimic realistic clinical scenario.
