Autism for African American Families: Part 1: Wondering and Worrying
This pioneering film presents the stories of 5 "everyday" African American families who have young children with Autism. The stigmas, fears and challenges that often face families, but are rarely discussed, are addressed in a warm and dignified manner. This is Ms. Krivit's second video in her Autism series comprised of two parts. Part 1 focuses on issues related to diagnosis and common myths that ultimately contribute to later diagnosis and less supports for many African American children who are living with Autism.
