The Arian Theological Error
Arius' less well known but more extreme theological successor, Eunomius, carried on Arius' work as an opposer of the homousion teaching the Son was heteroousios from the Father.
Eunomius argued that to be 'unbegotten' simply was the divine nature. This is where the distinction between hypostasis and ousia crystallized, and the controversy of agennatos (unbegotten) vs agenatos (unoriginate) reached its peak.
