Testing a Blackhead Rossi .15 on an F2A trainer model.

My friend built an F2A trainer fitted it with a vintage Rossi engine. The pipe is from an Irvine 15R, and the propeller is an APC Pylon, cut to about 145mm diameter. After setting the compression ratio, we decided to test the engine to make sure it operates well.

What one can take away from this video, is the proper 'ground operation' of an F2A motor: the RPM is good for comfortable take-off power, but the engine should not fully get on the pipe. Also, note the engine respond to nose up and down attitude.
