Small Factory Ring「町工場リング」

“Small Factory Ring” are artistic accessories designed by contemporary artist Kaori Tazoe and produced by Yazawa Seisakusho, one of many small factories specialized in precision cutting of metals in Ota, Tokyo. Tazoe was inspired by small industrial parts manufactured in such factories and decided to produce small accessories that are, in principle, the opposite of industrial goods and are almost never produced in factories. The rings are designed with the aim to let people actually feel on their skin how sophisticated Japanese precise and advanced technique is.
The characteristics of the rings can be seen not only in the simple and edgy industrial look, but also in its structure. A ring has two parts: one is the base that you wear around your finger and the other is a decoration piece. These two parts must be screwed together first before you can wear it. Thanks to this special structure, the decoration piece can be easily replaced with another, letting you enjoy many different looks.
