yo unichlos~~! I forgot what meeting up with new coworkers for happy hour felt like. Imma be honest, I'm horrible at small talk and my social anxiety was through the roof but I got through it! this video was long overdue bc I actually lost my sd card while shipping my camera back to get fixed T_T.
having onboarded to a new company once before during the pandemic, I honestly wasn't thrilled doing this again. it feels like throwing darts blindfolded while drinking from a waterhose. but in the first week, I flew up to SF to my team IRL (rare, I know), received a solid 30-60-90 onboarding plan, and have a manager who intentionally carves out the time to set me up for success.
onboarding has still been a lot, but we have daily couch time where the team hangs out on voice chat to just chill, work, ask questions, and send memes to each other. it's a fun time ~ what are things that you do with your team to build culture?
