A Short Walk in One of the Most Beautiful Areas of Tuscany
I miss the late great La Bandita Countryhouse so much. I don't miss the long steep drive up that strada bianca though but the views from the top were worth it. It's now a private home. Lucky owners.
This region of Italy is stunning. It's worth a visit if you haven't been. There are several gorgeous hill towns nearby, including Pienza. The food (and wine) is outstanding. It's about a two hour drive from Rome and about 50 minutes from Siena.
