So if you're building your tie wardrobe I would always suggest starting with a couple of good plains, something textured like a grenadine or a knitted tie but then you should always look at some pattern ties. Obviously there's a wide range of choices to go for but in the early days when you're still building your collection go things which are discreet and elegant and can be worn with lots of different other shirts and suits. This one here in a repeat pattern is ideal for an early pattern to introduce to your wardrobe. It can be worn with navy and charcoal suits but you could also wear it with maybe a brown or beige sports jacket and plenty of shirts. It would look great with a white shirt, a cream shirt, a blue shirt as we have here. But what's also nice is the pattern is so discreet you can also match it with a slight check or a slight stripe in the shirt very very sophisticated and also if you wore this perhaps twice in a week you're not going to be remembered by it.
