Chord Tone Improvisation - Arpeggios And Approach Concepts - 5 Examples Over Rhythm Changes Bridge

In this video I talk about improvising by using just the basic notes of the triad, and various 1, 2, and 3 note approach concepts leading into those chord tones. This is the way jazz musicians used to think about improvisation before modal thinking took over. I show some basic approach note concepts, and then apply those concepts over the bridge to I've Got Rhythm, starting very simple, and getting progressively denser. You can find these examples (and many more) in my book "Chord Tone Improvisation: A Practical Method For Improvising On Jazz Standards - Volume 1: Approaching Major And Minor Triads.
