People saying a film doesn't make sense - David Lynch responds [SPA Sub]

"How do you respond to people saying the movie [ed.: any movie, see note below] doesn't make sense?" - American filmmaker-artist David Lynch answers. Recorded at the Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre, Boston October 1, 2005 at "Consciousness, Creativity and The Brain", a discussion about transcendental meditation hosted by the Emerson College School of Arts.

A big thank you to Joaquín Ignacio for the Spanish subtitles!

NOTE: The first part of the question that I cut out: "A lot of people when I talk to them or show them your movies often say I don't get it and then they don't really want to talk about it after that. I've also, I've heard that you often like to think about images and see what you can do with them from there without necessarily thinking about things like you know the plot or the deeper meaning first. For Mulholland Drive for example, I heard that was actually initially conceived somewhat like Twin Peaks as a TV series and it was sort of altered after it was clear that it wouldn't happen. But in a situation like that or even in a story that was supposed to be a movie in the first place, how do you respond to people saying the movie doesn't make sense?"
