1953 Geloso G226A 50W - another Tweed Bassman in the rough?

When I got this amp it was in pretty bad shape - it needed a cap job badly, was missing a fuse and had a broken switch. Again, these 50s Geloso are gems in the rough: the circuits are not as constipated as some of the later sixties designs and almost miraculously follow Leo Fender's designs. Here's John Geloso's version of the early Tweed Bassman with 12S_6 tubes for the preamp and 6L6GC's for power tubes. 5U4 Rectifier. Cathodyne phase inverter, but 4 stages of gain, mind you! It's the best sounding amp among a dozen Geloso's that I own... even in stock condition.
