Nightingale in 200 Objects, People and Places- Object 175 Assassin's Creed
As part of our new online exhibition object 175 is:
‘Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’, 2015
In 2015 game developer Ubisoft launched its video game ‘Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’. In this game, pIayers complete missions set in Victorian London as the fictional protagonists Jacob and Evie Frye. Players meet the character of Florence Nightingale and help her to complete a challenge at “Lambeth Asylum”.
The Assassin’s Creed series is known for undertaking in-depth historical research, and the Nightingale we see here closely resembles her appearance after returning from the Crimean War. However “Lambeth Asylum”, and the Nightingale storyline, is entirely fictional.
