LET L 23 Super Blaník Flight Operations

Had a flight in the Blanik with my good friend Steve Rasmussen who is a glider CFI for the Omaha Soaring Club Inc. Glider operations were busy all day, and Steve could be found mostly in the rear seat of the Blanik taking one person up after another. The Blair (Nebraska) Airport is used for the glider activity. They have several gliders among the club members.
Our flight today lasted 25 min. but could have been longer. However there were others waiting to go up, and it was only fair to not extend the flight. Airport elevation is 1,500 ft msl. The Piper Pawnee tows to 3,000 ft agl then releases the glider. We had some lift during the flight that took us to 4,500 ft msl. All in all a great flight and I'm much appreciative to Steve.
