Arguments for the Existence of God in Eastern Orthodoxy | David Bradshaw & Richard Swinburne
Two internationally renowned Orthodox philosophers of religion, David Bradshaw and Richard Swinburne, discuss the role of reason in the Church Fathers revered by Eastern Christianity. Swinburne and Bradshaw point out a patristic practice from Athanasius to Palamas of offering rational considerations for the existence of God, in order to reinforce the claims of divine revelation. They have edited a volume with contributions from seven different philosophers and theologians, discussing this tradition and its contemporary relevance, in the light of criticisms from secular philosophers and some Orthodox theologians (such as Lossky and Yannaras), Natural Theology in the Eastern Orthodox Tradition, a volume available from the IOTA Publications at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1735295132
