This beautiful car left the factory as a Starlight Black 1965 Pontiac GTO Hardtop 389 “Tri Power” V8 with a close ratio 4-speed, HD Safe-T-Track rear end (4.33 ratio), power steering and power brakes. This car is equipped with a rare original Ram Air Scoop Package which was a dealer installed part. This car is from the Jim Mattison Collection – the founder of Pontiac Historical Services (PHS). This is documented on the clean title and signed letter on PHS letterhead which is included. The Pontiac Historical Services (PHS) paperwork is also included. This car was awarded “Concours Gold Certificate for excellence” at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) in 2019. The judging sheets, display pieces and award are included. This car was a product of a rotisserie restoration and is in show quality condition throughout. The body is very straight and sports beautiful Starlight Black paint which is the original born with color. It sits on new reproduction 14” Hurst wheels with Firestone Deluxe Champion Redline tires. The original Parchment and Black interior color combination is gorgeous and fully restored. The trunk compartment is clean and organized with the spare and tools. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. The car is powered by the rebuilt matching numbers 389 “Tri-Power” V8 engine that was factory rated with 360HP. The engine has a rare original Ram Air Scoop Package. The engine is coupled to a rebuilt correct date code M21 close ratio 4-speed manual transmission. The power is transferred to the rebuilt correct differential Saf-T-Track rear end with Eaton Posi and 3.73 gears. This is the GTO GOAT!

The exterior of this car is truly stunning with its timeless design and quality craftsmanship. This car just has the look! The body is very straight with very nice gap lines throughout. The hood, doors and trunk lid close very nicely. The car was finished in its original color of Starlight Black which looks great. The single stage DuPont paint has recently been detailed to a show quality shine by MS CLASSIC CARS. It does have a few small imperfections as all cars do. All of the glass was replaced new and is crystal clear. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced such as the window trim, wipers, antenna, front spilt grille, headlight bezels, T-3 headlights, drivers mirror, front bumper, fender trim, door trim, door handles, lower moldings, rear taillight panel and emblems. The car sits on new reproduction 14” Hurst 5-spoke style wheels with Firestone Deluxe Champion Redline 7.75x14 tires.

The interior of this car is beautiful, spacious and comfortable. It retains the original color of Parchment and Black which isn’t common. Parchment is similar color to a pearl which really looks rich. The Parchment headliner, sun visors, door panels, front bucket seats and rear seats were done to high standards. Everything in the interior was restored or replaced. The steering wheel, heater bezel and radio appear to in very nice original condition. Everything in the interior is in working order such as the interior lights, headlights, turn signals, horn, wipers, gauges, radio and heating system. MS CLASSIC CARS ordered new black carpeted mats with the GTO logo on the center that will be included. The trunk compartment was nicely restored and finished in the correct trunk splatter paint. The trunk is covered with the factory style trunk mat. It’s also home to the spare tire with cover and tools.

The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many correct parts. The car is powered by the rebuilt matching numbers 389 “Tri-Power” V8 engine that was factory rated with 360HP. The engine was painted the correct color and dressed with new chrome valve covers. The engine is stamped with “WS” and also has a “WS” sticker. The engine has a rare original Ram Air Scoop Package that wraps around the 3- 2 bbl. Rochester carburetors. This was a dealer ordered option and very rare. There are factory paint marks on the power steering box and master cylinder. The engine breathes through factory manifolds and a correct style dual exhaust system that sounds very nice. The engine is coupled to a rebuilt correct date code M21 close ratio 4-speed manual transmission. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased this transmission and sent it out to be completely rebuilt. The power is transferred to the rebuilt correct differential Saf-T-Track rear end with Eaton Posi and 3.73 gears. MS CLASSIC CARS rebuilt the rear end including the new center section and 3.73 gears. The car originally came with 4.33 gears which was very rare but not street friendly at higher speeds.
