Yevhen Fedchenko, Ph.D is co-founder and Chief Editor of fact-checking website StopFake.org, leading hub of expertise on Russian disinformation. He is also Director of the Mohyla School of Journalism at National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Kyiv, Ukraine. He advises on issues of tackling disinformation and media literacy, is an active commentator of Ukrainian politics and speaker at numerous high-level international conferences. Yevhen spent more than 25 years with the media industry, covering international stories for different types of media. His main interests are information wars, propaganda and weaponization of information, coverage of international politics in media and public diplomacy, digital journalism and innovations, journalism education in transitional societies, news standards. He contributed his comments to the NYT, RFE/RL, BBC, NPR, WNYC, Politico, Public Radio International, Radio Canada International, CBC, Mashable, SKY etc.
Orysia Lutsevych is Head of the Ukraine Forum and Research Fellow in the Russia and Eurasia Programme at Chatham House. Orysia’s research focuses on social change and the role of civil society in democratic transition in the post-Soviet region. Her most recent research is about building resilience in Ukraine and safeguarding society from Russian aggression. In 2017 she coordinated and co-authored a major Chatham House report The Struggle for Ukraine, which assessed changes since Euromaidan and provided policy recommendations. She is the author of the Chatham House publications Agents of the Russian World: Proxy Groups in the Contested Neighbourhood (2016); and How to Finish a Revolution: Civil Society and Democracy in Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine (2013). Orysia served as a senior regional expert for USAID CSO Sustainability Index (2014-2018). She also provides consultancy services on programme development and evaluation, citizen engagement and high-impact strategies. She has provided consultation services to the USAID Office for Transition Initiatives in Ukraine, Council of Europe, the European Endowment for Democracy, the UK FCO, USAID, the PACT Foundation and the Open Society Foundations. Her media work includes contributions to the BBC, CNN, the Financial Times, the New York Times and Open Democracy. Before joining Chatham House, she led the start-up of Europe House Georgia and was executive director of the Open Ukraine Foundation. She has a master’s degree in international relations from Lviv State University and a master’s in public administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Volodymyr Dubovyk is an Associate Professor, Department of International Relations and Director of the Center for International Studies, Odessa I. I. Mechnikov National University (Ukraine). V. Dubovyk has conducted research at the Kennan Institute, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (1997, 2006-2007), at the Center for International and Security Studies at the University of Maryland (2002), taught at the University of Washington (Seattle) in 2013 and at St. Edwards university/University of Texas (Austin) in 2016-17. He is the co-author of “Ukraine and European Security” (Macmillan, 1999) and has published numerous articles on US-Ukraine relations, regional and international security, and Ukraine’s foreign policy. Areas of expertise: Ukraine, Transatlantic Relations, U.S., Black Sea security.
