The Maton Lyrebird is made from the finest tonewoods available, carefully selected for their exceptional acoustic properties. The guitar is built with a special focus on two woods in particular: Satin Box (Phebalium Squamium) and Victorian Blackwood (Acacia melonaxim).

Satin Box is a rare and highly prized tonewood that we have discovered to be among the finest we've encountered. In fact, to our knowledge, it has never been used before as a structural component in guitars. Blackwood and Satin Box are companion plants that grow together in a mutually beneficial relationship. This harmony is carried over into the construction of the Lyrebird model, resulting in a guitar with a perfect balance of aesthetics and tone.
