Eurovision 2016: Kyiv wins the battle to host the popular song contest next year
Eurovision 2017 will be held in Kyiv's International Exhibition Center.
During the voting, Kyiv received 19 votes, Odesa – two and one commission member abstained.
In May 2016, Ukrainian singer Jamala won the contest. According to the rules, the next Eurovision should be held in Ukraine. Six cities were in the running to become the host of the contest: Kyiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv and Kherson. All of them have created promo videos, explaining, why their city would be the place to hold a Eurovision contest. Three cities got through to the final: Kyiv, Odesa and Dnipro.
