Dia de Muertos + Art in Mexico 2021 (SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE)

We had an amazing last day of our trip to Guanajuato state getting in the spirit of Dia de Los Muertos, in beautiful San Miguel de Allende. This annual holiday is really special to us as it is to all of Mexico. It is a time to remember our loved ones who have passed to the other side and invite them back into our memories through the creation of ofrendas (alters), covered with pictures, flowers and their favorite food and beverages.

Highlights of our last day in San Miguel de Allende included getting our face painted like the catrinas, visiting the ofrendas and art galleries in Fabrica de Aurora, meetin up with an Nate's old friend serendipitously (not on camera), and seeing the catrina puppets and festivities in the main zocalo while enjoying dinner on a rooftop. Enjoy this little journey through San Miguel de Allende with us during this magical time.
