Goal Zero Nomad 5 and Guide 12 kit. More power!

So here i'm showing the new full kit of Goal Zero's Nomad 5 and Guide 12.

Short of video.
Nomad 5: Seems to be more like 10watts of power. But limited to 5 for more power efficiency to supply a limited 5watts (1amp) output power. Even though it seems like the panel is getting more like 10/12watts of income power. This is nice due to not needing to be in peak straight up sun to get the full ampage output like other panels do.

Although the panel is quite wide and not as compact as more folding system. But it's very thin. And durabile due to having a resin coated system with a hard plastic backing.

Also the panel seems to be specifically made to fit Goal Zero's Flip systems as kinda a way to have a internal battery built in, without it being built straight up. So you can fit a Flip 12 without taking or hanging by a cable like other plugs.

One problem that many might not notice. Is it does produce some electrial noise if held up to ear level to hear while in the sun or outside. My guess is general power noise conversion.

Guide 12: The best of Guide 10 Plus back at it in a reface plated charger with now 2amp output when using AAs. (Though they recommend using 1amp mode for AAA's.). And now 4hours of charge with USB-C vs 3 from solar port or 6 from mini USB (since the old Guide 10plus had solar port at 6.5volts at 1.1amps, and 5volt usb mini at 0.8amps input.). But the USB-C is not bi-directional. Is only for Input charging.

Power button is now a Digital vs Analog button. (Slider would contact to different modes.). Which now has to be pushed/held to turn the LED on the unit on for about 3-5seconds. Or Triple times to change from 2amp to 1amp modes. Or a single click to enable power output. (Still figuring if it has a forced shutoff mode to turn off output power on the USB-A port.).

It also has a Power indictor now to supposedly show how much life is in the unit. But below explains why this isn't efficient yet. Hopefully Goal Zero will see these videos and fix this.

Problems with Guide 12: The 4dot indictor on the power button will only read correctly if the unit is charged internally. If you take out batteries that are full or replace with full. The system will only show 1bar.

Now another early adopter from Amazon page mentioned he has heard a loud hum on his unit. Mine i haven't had this problem. I've only heard the hum on the solar panel itself. Not the Guide 12.
=====================================================

So that's it for basic overview. It's finally nice to see a company making a Higher ampage output for AA/AAA systems instead of relying on Lithium 18650cells to provide such. Even though AA's mah is smaller and limited. It's more flexible in usage then most. And i have found that 2300mah 4x goal zero AA's on guide 10plus is exactly same as 1 3000mah Lithium cell bank (which is same as their Lighthouse Mini and Switch 10 (not switch 10core.). And 2500mah is 12watts of power on the Guide 12. Sure it won't charge modern 5000mah phones in 1 pack. But having 2amp output now and around 3400mah. That's beyond half of a modern phone on a single pack of AA's. And 2 of the top companies (Energizer and Duracell.) Have 15mins/1hour/2hours chargers still hanging around. a full 2hours less then Lithium AA's (with 3000mwh/2000mah rating.), or 3hours less in standard USB/AC chargers. And being hot swiped with already fresh AA's is a great bonus. Along with having AA's to use in something else that requires AA or AAA batteries.
