Baby koala joey tries to suckle from mum

Koala mums are usually very accommodating to their joeys, but when joeys reach 12 months of age they have to be weaned. This is a difficult time, as most joeys don't want to stop nursing. Mum has to be firm, so to make it easier she starts discouraging the joey from nursing a month or so before it needs to end.

Watch mum Misty reluctantly allow 11 month-old Cuddles to nurse, then when Cuddles finishes, Misty gives her a bit of a talking-to.
