In The Sopranos, when Richie Aprile is released from prison and meets with Tony, he reprimands Chris for hitting his niece Adriana, telling him once he marries her its none of his business but until then to keep his hands off her. Very old school. Ironically though, Richie hooks up with Janice, engaged to be married, but before the knot is tied, at Livia’s home Richie and Janice get into an argument, and Richie ends up hitting Janice before they are wed, going against his own advice. And it spells doom for Richie, as of course after he hits her Janice shoots Richie dead.
