Mercer Football earns No. 6 Seed, first-round bye as FCS playoffs begin

When it comes to FCS football, it’s officially playoff time. For the third year in a row, Mercer football gathered as a team—surrounded by family, friends, players and coaches—to learn where their postseason journey would begin.

Redshirt sophomore Julian Fox summed up the special moment: “Not too many get to experience this, and so just for us to experience this back-to-back is great. It’s an honor,” Fox said.

It was a packed room, buzzing with energy, as everyone waited to see where the Bears would “go dancing.”

Head coach Mike Jacobs said securing the conference’s automatic bid removed a lot of the stress when watching the selection show.
