In todays video I tried making an animation cel! As a kid who grew up during the Disney renaissance I loved watching behind the scenes footage on how my favorite movies were made. In todays video, while using the supplies I have at home, I made a how to video about making an animation Cel! In this video I used clear plastic sleeves, posca pens, copic markers, copic liners, a light table, canson mixed media paper, and regular computer paper. After drawing the background, I sketched where the characters would go on a separate paper using my light box to see the background through so that I can make sure the placement is right. Then I flipped my sketch and traced the art using the posca pens onto the transparent sleeves. It is important to draw the characters backwards at this point! That way when you fill the colors in and everything drys the characters will be in the correct spot when you flip it.
It can get a little messy and a little frustrating but this was a lot of fun to make and overall I like the end result a lot!
