“Scouts you have my absolute respect by playing such a key role in shaping the next generation of global citizens,” said Chief Ambassador Bear Grylls. “You are changing your communities and our society for the better from inside out - an unstoppable force for good - and we are only just getting started!"

Last night, participants gathered at the AT&T Summit Stadium for the Opening Ceremony of the #ScoutJamboree! 45,000 Scouts from over 150 different countries came together to open up the 24th World Scout Jamboree!

What an honour to speak at the Opening Ceremony of the World Scout Jamboree! Scouting is now a global force for good, 50 million strong, and this week 45,000 Scouts have gathered from around the globe, with united determination to look after our planet, each other and to bring life skills to millions of young people globally. 45,000 Scouts from around the world have come to at the 24th World Scout Jamboree in North America at Summit Bechtel Reserve, Mount Hope, West Virginia, United States. The opening ceremony was attended by UK Chief Scout and Chief Ambassador of World Scouting Bear Grylls. And the cherry on the top of the opening ceremony: an incredibly powerful drone show in the sky of West Virginia! The opening ceremony ended with a synchronized drone show.

Opening Show - Tuesday, July 23
Unity Show – Friday, July 26
Scouts Own Service – Sunday, July 28
Closing Show – Thursday, August 1

Base Camp Bash - Scheduled on six different evenings in three different base camp location, the Bash Shows will bring the action right to you front door (or tent flap!) Scouts from your Base camp (and adjoining base camps) are invited to a spectacular, high- energy experience, that is one-part concert/one-part dance-party, with enough energy, diversity, and fun to rival any single other Jamboree event. Youth from all NSOs are invited to be a part of these new festival-like events. The atmosphere is centered around you, and it is YOU that will bring the international flare to represent the best ways that you celebrate in your home countries.

The 2019 Jamboree is the largest outdoor educational event organised by World Scouting, gathering Scouts and leaders from more than 150 countries for 12 days of activities and adventure. The 2019 Jamboree is the largest ever and is being jointly hosted by Boy Scouts of America, Scout Canada and Asociación de Scouts de México.
