At the Docks at Blackpoint !

May 2nd,2020 was the first Saturday that all of South Florida Marinas were open. Launching times were very long do to new restrictions and hours. Before Social distancing boats can typically launch at anytime of the day or night. Fisherman usually are the first ones out between 4:45 A.M and 6 :00 A.M .

On normal schedules within that time frame you can have 20 or so boats already launched. Miami Dade County has put new rules and hours from 6:00 A.M to 8:00 P.M which causes boats and trucks to sit idle until the marina opens.

One fisherman said he was in the line at 5:15 A.M and there was 40 or more cars in front of him ! he said he was on the water by 8:00 A.M.

The City has placed furloughed security and School crossing guards at docks to keep them employed. They help assure social distancing and direct traffic at the docks. In some occasions these staff members didn't have their mask on and that defeats the purpose of what the city is trying to regulate.
