This is a bit one - too many traders are trying to predict what is going to happen next. But no one really knows where the market is going. There are a multitude of variables changing all the time. Just consider the evidence. Even the brightest professors or the most powerful computers struggle to predict the market direction.
We see automated algorithms getting it right for a while and then they stop working. Is it skill or luck?

No one knows when the market will move. Let's suppose you predict that a stock is going to double but it halves first. Unless you are an investor sitting thru all that - it is no good for us traders.
Prediction = Disappointment. If you make a prediction and get it right you will believe that you can predict the market and then you get a sequence of losses. Or you make an initial prediction and keep getting it wrong.

Trading is about having a good risk:reward ratio and a better than 50% chance of success. You need to have some edge in there. You are not predicting; you are just looking where the risk:reward ratio is favourable.
