STREAMTEK Corp. - Vortex tube
Welcome to Streamtek Corp. in this video we will look at our Vortex tube. Visit https://stream-tek.com/vortex-tube/ for more info. The Streamtek vortex tube is a compact pneumatic product designed to separate regular compressed air into cold and hot air streams. Vortex tubes are powered entirely by compressed air, eliminating the need for dangerous refrigerant or freon gases to be used. With cooling capacities of up to 2800 BTUs and temperature drops up to 78°, Streamtek Vortex tubes provide the perfect solution for quick and effective spot cooling in numerous industrial applications.
How does a Streamtek Vortex tube work ?
1. Compressed air enters the vortex tube at a standard NPT inlet port and travels through the vortex generator into the spin chamber.
2. Inside the spin chamber, the air stream spins at up to one million revolutions per minute, which separates it into hot and cold air.
3. Hot air, being lighter in weight, is pushed to the outside wall of the spin chamber, meanwhile cold air, being heavier in weight, remains in the center.
4. Hot air exits the vortex tube at one end, while cold air exits at the opposite end.
Streamtek Vortex tubes can be used in various cooling applications, some of which include :
Cooling welded parts
Cooling objects on a conveyor
Cooling saw blades
Streamtek vortex tubes are offered in aluminum or stainless steel material and capacities ranging from 2 to 40 SCFM.
