1970 Mercedes 280SEL Update

Here's the next installment of getting my Mercedes 280SEL in top roadworthy condition. When I started this, my intention was to get it cleaned up, attend to a few things and put it on the market, but after cleaning it, I started going further bit by bit and pretty soon, I decided to keep the car in my collection and then we were off to the races! So far, I have taken care of a long-standing rich running condition, changed the oil, drained the gas, adjusted the valves, replaced the tires, installed new heater controls, replaced perished rubber bits all arounds, replaced generic hose clamps with original, detailed various engine compartment parts as I have gone along, and in this video you'll see that I am going through the cooling system.

In the next video, you'll see the cooling system back together and the car in operating condition.

I have yet to do the following: Change the A/T fluid and filter, new fuel filter, and flush the brake system. Once that's done, I would not hesitate to drive the car anywhere and it will. be true to it's 47,000 mile condition.
