Caitlyn Jenner slams defunding the police, calls it a ‘stupid idea’

Former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner has slammed the “stupid idea” to defund or dismantle the police force, saying Sacramento has “no common sense” as she goes up against Gavin Newsom in the race to be California governor.

In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, he asked Ms Jenner who Californians would call if there were no police.

“I totally agree. It’s a stupid idea. Again, no common sense in Sacramento,” she replied.

Governor Newsom is facing a recall after 1.6 million Californians signed a petition to boot him out of the top job – prompting Caitlyn Jenner to announce her run as a Republican candidate.

Mr Newsom hasn’t said he wanted to defund or dismantle his state police but he would look at making changes.
Caitlyn Jenner argued Governor Newsom is “bad on every issue”.

“He’s bad on taxes, obviously we’re the most taxed state in the nation,” she said.

“He’s been horrible for business obviously, companies are leaving left and right. 18,000 companies have left California.”
