A gem of a composition of Swargeeya Madan Mohan, Baiyan Na Dharo is based on Raga Darbari Kanada. A Sitar-Oriented Melody with no other lead Instruments except the Sitar for the Interludes.
Miyan Tansen has been credited with inventing Raga Darbari which was sung in the court or 'Darbar' of Emperor Akbar and hence the name. Marhum Ustad Rais Khan and Lata ji
have done full justice to this eternal song from the Film Dastak in 1970. Madanji also received the National Award for this song.
