The nylon construction and air vent allow the hat to breath and makes it an excellent summer companion. That said, Andy uses his hat in all seasons, using a wool Buff to provide added insulation. It works well in the rain too, especially when treated with Nikwax TX direct. Due to its age and heavy use, Andy has washed his hat a number of times, using Nikwax techwash. Careful drying restores the shape. Not only is it a great hill, moor and mountain hat, its a great one for forest walking and bushcraft. Made in Canada too, so you know the workers will be treated fair as will the environment. This is apparent in the quality construction and finish. The guarantee is second to none. It lasts the life of the garment and its well worth registering the hat after purchase. All told, its a great hat and one you never regret owning.
