This 41K Mile 1983 Buick Electra Park Avenue is one of the Last Great Full-Frame Cars from GM

I still have a love affair going with these big B-Body cruisers, and this is the best sedan I've seen in more than a decade. The Park Avenue badge isn't historical, however, first appearing as a trim level on the Electra sedan in 1977, and not becoming its own model until 1990. Buick is historical, however, having been founded by Scottish immigrant David Buick back in 1899, before ongoing financial troubles saw the company be sold to William Durant in 1906, who turned it in to a cornerstone of General Motors. David Buick came away a rich man, but lost his fortune in a series of ill-fated oil and real-estate ventures. He died poor in 1929.

Buick, however, thrived, selling large numbers of automobiles to upscale buyers for many years. They are also very international, and sent cars to the elites in China in the 10s, 20s, and 30s, and currently 80% of their production is sold in Asia.

This is a full review and test drive on the Park Avenue I bought at a collector car auction in Sarasota recently, with a few useless bits of trivia thrown in - for instance, the origin and meaning of "Ventiports," one of Buick's most iconic styling cues.
