Pahoehoe Lava 🌋 Iceland

Basaltic pahoehoe lava coming from the northern vent 3 (the cone or chimney volcano) that formed itself on April 7 right after Easter. Arrived from 20 km earth depth. That volcano also emitted a lot of fumes and gases. Filmed by me on APRIL 8, 2021 with Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G in Full HD (1920×1080) as most of my videos at 14 bitrate. Original sound. Was too much wind that day as you see. I didnt add music over as viewers complain about it:)

The lava produced by the Fagradalsfjall eruption shows a composition differing from historical Reykjanes lavas. This could be caused by a new batch of magma arriving from mantle depths (ie. from a bigger magma reservoir at a depth of about 17–20 km (11–12 mi) at the Moho under Reykjanes.
"Mafic (Momagnesian, dark-coloured) lavas such as basalt characteristically form flows known by the Hawaiian names pahoehoe and aa (or a’a). Pahoehoe lava flows are characterized by smooth, gently undulating, or broadly hummocky surfaces. The liquid lava flowing beneath a thin, still-plastic crust drags and wrinkles it into tapestry-like folds and rolls resembling twisted rope. Pahoehoe lava flows are fed almost wholly internally by streams of liquid lava flowing beneath a solidified or partly solidified surface. Typically, the margin of a pahoehoe flow advances by protruding one small toe or lobe after another."
