Two Civil Defense Paramedics Killed, Third Wounded in Israeli Strike While Aiding Victims in Nabatieh; Lebanon Accuses Israel of Deliberately Targeting Rescue Workers

In Nabatieh, civil defense paramedics Hussein Jaber and Ahmad Noura were killed and a third responder was wounded by an Israeli strike while they were attending to the aftermath of an earlier attack. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun expressed sadness and regret over the deaths of the two civil defense members and condemned the Israeli aggression.

Lebanon's Health Ministry accused Israeli forces of deliberately targeting the paramedics, who were in uniform and riding a clearly marked rescue motorcycle. It is clear that this was not collateral damage; the men were hit while providing aid to people wounded by Israeli strikes. A second strike, carried out minutes later, specifically targeted rescue workers. This is not an unprecedented occurrence. Since the war reignited on March 2, the United Nations has reported that at least 103 Lebanese medical workers have been killed and 230 injured in more than 130 Israeli strikes on health targets.
