The ESP32 is a full-featured microcontroller that does almost everything, but that versatility comes at a price - power consumption. A fully loaded ESP32 can consume almost a quarter of an ampere, making battery-powered projects challenging.

But there is a solution. Actually, there are four solutions.

The ESP32 has four power-saving modes that can drastically reduce your project's power consumption. They work by turning off sections of the ESP32, either temporarily or permanently.

Today, we will see how easy it is to use these four power-saving modes with the ESP32 an dteh Arduino IDE.

We’ll also build a project, a mailbox or door-opening alarm that will send you a message via Telegram. It's a simple project that runs in Deep-Sleep mode, so it could run on a battery for months, or even years.

Here is the Table of Contents for today's video:

00:00 - Introduction
01:52 - ESP32 Low Power Modes
06:51 - Modem Sleep Mode
13:32 - Light Sleep Mode
20:28 - Deep Sleep Mode
27:15 - Hibernation Mode
33:40 - Project - Mailbox or Door Alert Sensor
42:36 - Conclusion

By incorporating some of the techniques, I’ll show you how you could drastically reduce the current your ESP32 consumes. And that means greater battery life for your portable ESP32 projects.

I hope you enjoy the video!
