Venom (2018) is the first installment of a franchise by the same name, and also the first film in Sony's Spider Man Universe (SSU). It is an American superhero film, featuring the Marvel Comics character Venom. Directed by Reuben Fisher, its Screenplay was written by Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, along with Kelly Marcel.

The story revolves around the life of a struggling journalist, Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy), who is bonded to an alien entity, Venom, one of the many symbiotes who have invaded Earth. But Venom takes a liking to Earth and decides to protect it from his clan.

The movie also stars Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott in leading roles.
