1. INDEPENDENT & SELF-RELIANT
Choosing cloth diapers, cloth pads or any type of reusable cloth product was very liberating for me. You stop having to rely so heavily on disposable products that you have to constantly stock up on and you start becoming more independent. If something happened to me financially I would be set on cloth diapers and reusable menstrual products for the next five years. That gives me a sense of peace that disposable products could never provide me.

2. YOU FEEL GOOD
After I switched to using cloth diapers I began to feel very good about my decision. I am helping the environment and supporting a lot of work at home mothers who make these diapers and cloth wipes. Some of the diapers and cloth pads are made in my country so I am supporting the workforce here. I try to purchase chemical free fabrics or organic when possible which helps the environment even more! All of these things make me feel really good when I think about it. I am becoming a part of the solution and not contributing to more unnecessary waste. I knew switching to cloth saved a lot of money but I didn't factor in all of the awesome benefits when I first made the switch!

3. IT GETS ADDICTING
So I originally switched to cloth diapers because I wanted save as much money as I could while I was off work. I thought that using cloth diapers was going to be a lot of work but it turned out to be just fine. I didn't realize how fun and addicting cloth products could be. When you choose cloth your options are almost endless and you can choose different styles, materials and prints that match your individual needs. It becomes a lot of fun to purchase (Fluff Mail) or buy a new pad with a custom design. It is also fun to show off your cloth pad or diaper stash to other cloth friendly moms! It sparks a lot of conversations and you can make a lot of new friends that way. Disposables are not customizable and you get what you get. Your options are pretty limited and expensive when added up.

When you are finished with our cloth diapering journey you have the option to either sale or donate your cloth diapers to less fortunate families. The Rebecca Foundation is one located in the U.S. and they send free cloth diapers to low income or military families.

The Cloth Alliance was formed to help bring awareness on reusable cloth products and erase the stigma associated with reusable cloth. We want people to know that they have more options beyond disposables and that it isn't as hard as one might think to get started!
