16 december साल 1960 ......समय 9 बजकर 50 मिनट .....दिन शुक्रवार…
united airlines की फ्लाइट संख्या 826 .....chicago के o'hare international airport से उड़ान भरकर new york के idlewild airport की ओर रवाना hoti है ....idle wild वही airport है जिसे आज new york के मशहूर jfk यानी john f kennedy एअरपोर्ट के नाम से भी जाना जाता है .....इस उड़ान को अंजाम दे रहा था अमरीकी विमान company douglas aircraft द्वारा बनाया गया विमान .....dc -8-11......जिसके निर्माण को अभी केवल 15 महीने ही बीते थे ......जब इसने commercial flights को ढोना शुरू किया था .....

विमान भले ही नया था .......लेकिन इस उड़ान की ज़िम्मेदारी दो नहीं .....चार भी नहीं .....बल्कि 6 मज़बूत कन्धों पर थी.....जिनमे से दो के मालिक थे 46 वर्षीय captain robert sawyer ............जो पिछले 19 सालों से united एयरलाइन्स के पायलट की भूमिका अदा कर रहे थे और अब तक 19 हज़ार से ज्यादा फ्लाइट hours की उड़ान भी भर चुके थे ........वहीँ फ्लाइट के कॉकपिट में इनका साथ देने के लिए first officer की भूमिका में मौजूद थे 40 वर्षीय robert fiebing और तीस साल के फ्लाइट engineer richard pruitt .

विमान में 77 यात्रियों अौर 7 crew मेम्बर समेत कुल 84 लोग मौजूद थे.........

वहीँ दूसरी ओर ठीक इसी समय पर chicago से 528 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर trans world airlines की फ्लाइट Twa 266 भी रोज़ की तरह ही उड़ान को रवाना होती है ....... जिसे अगले कुछ ही घंटों में ohio के dayton and columbus एअरपोर्ट से उड़कर new york के laguardia एअरपोर्ट पोहोंचना था ............lockheed का super constellation विमान L 1049......इस उड़ान को अंजाम देने जा रहा था .......और इसे उड़ाने का ज़िम्मा 39 वर्षीय captain david wollam के हांथों में था .......जो पिछले 15 वर्षों से trans world airlines के मुख्य पायलट होने के साथ साथ....... 15 हज़ार फ्लाइट hours वाले एक अनुभवी पायलट भी थे ........वहीँ इस फ्लाइट के first officer थे 32 वर्षीय dean bowen और फ्लाइट engineer की भूमिका में थे तीस साल के leroy rosenthal .......इस विमान में 39 यात्री सवार थे जिनकी देख रेख के लिए विमान में 5 crew मेम्बर भी मौजूद थे........

united airlines flight number 826 .....flights from o'hare international airport in chicago to idlewild airport in new york hoti ....idle wild is the same airport today as the famous jfk of new york ie john f Also known as kennedy airport ..... the aircraft was made by the American aircraft company Douglas aircraft .....dc -8-11......whose construction is yet to be carried out. Only 15 months had passed......when it started carrying commercial flights.....

The plane was brand new ...... but the responsibility of this flight was not two ..... not even four ..... but 6 were on strong shoulders ..... two of which were owned 46 year-old captain robert sawyer ............ who was playing the role of pilot of united airlines for the last 19 years and so far has flown more than 19 thousand flight hours .... There were 40-year-old robert fiebing and thirty-year-old flight engineer Richard Pruitt .......

A total of 84 people including 77 passengers and 7 crew members were present in the aircraft.

On the other hand, at the exact same time, trans world airlines flight Twa 266, 528 km from Chicago, departs as usual. Had to reach new york's laguardia airport by flying from . lockheed's super constellation aircraft L 1049...was going to execute this flight ......more The responsibility of flying it was in the hands of 39-year-old Captain David Wollam .... who has been the chief pilot of trans world airlines for the last 15 years as well as an experienced pilot with 15 thousand flight hours. There were also . While the first officer of this flight was 32-year-old Dean Bowen and thirty-year-old Leroy Rosenthal was in the role of flight engineer. there were 39 passengers on board this plane, who were supervised.
