NAGASAKI by the Ipana Troubadours 1929
NAGASAKI by the Ipana Troubadours, recorded in 1929. This was a pioneering American broadcasting band under the direction of Sam Lanin, and named for the brand of toothpaste that sponsored its radio appearances. One of many recordings by the Ipana Troubadours from a recent collection I acquired. By the way, not only is this a great tune, but the disc itself is about the finest I have ever seen from this period. These laminated Columbias are legendary for high quality, even the ratty looking records can get a good sound, but this one is nearly mint condition and allows for a truly amazing transfer! Enjoy!
