Yes, you can delete text in a PDF document using Adobe Acrobat. You need to use the free trial or buy the Pro version. But the free version doesn't allow you to edit text.

Smart PDF editing edits regular PDF files and scanned PDF pages as well. Let's do it.

First open the PDF file with Adobe Acrobat Pro. Here I am on a trial license.

Once you open the PDF file, find the EDIT A PDF option on the left panel or click on the EDIT option from the top menu.

All items on the PDF document are in editable format. Just click on it to see different actions, like Replace image, Rotate, Delete or Replace new image, Reduce image transparency, or Edit existing image.

To remove some text, move into the paragraph and delete some text using the backspace or delete button from your keyboard. To add new text, type in the same paragraph.

To add another paragraph, use the Text tool under the Add Content section. Move to PDF and start typing new text anywhere in the PDF file.

You can resize the text area, change the position on the page, and resize according to your requirements.

You can do the same thing with a scanned PDF document too. Open the scanned PDF in Adobe Acrobat and start editing the file.

Go to the page where you want to remove the text. Adobe Acrobat will process the scanned page and automatically detect the text using OCR technology.

Once the processing is complete, click inside the text area and delete the text you don’t want. You can also add new text, replace words, or edit the existing content just like a regular PDF document.

To save the PDF, press Control and S on a Windows PC and Command and S on MacOS.
