Brazil 4K Curitiba, Japanese Square

In this video we will walk along the Japanese square in Curitiba, State of Parana.

The Japanese square was built in honor of Japanese immigrants who arrived in 1910. The capital of Paraná has a second largest Japanese community in Brazil, behind São Paulo, and today houses more than 32,000 of their descendants.

In its 14 thousand square meters of area, there are 30 cherry trees spread across the square, sent by the Japanese empire, and six artificial lakes in the Japanese mold.

There is also a lantern carved in stone, a traditional symbol in the gardens of Japan, which was donated by the Legislative Assembly of Hyogo, a co-sister region of Paraná, in 1979.
