ELT International Conference Emphasizes Human Centered AI in Education

Lhoussine Qasserras, Conference Chair of the 7th edition of the ELT International Conference held today in Rabat, highlighted in an interview with Morocco World News (MWN) the event’s growing international reach, which brought together participants and speakers from Morocco, the UK, the USA, Egypt, and Lebanon.

Qasserras noted that the conference is centered around the theme “Human First, Technology Second,” placing strong emphasis on the evolving role of artificial intelligence in education. Rather than viewing AI as a threat, he stressed its potential as a supportive tool for educators.

“Today, many people are complaining about AI and say that it may replace teachers. But here at this conference, we say no. AI will not replace teachers; it will complement them and add value to the teaching profession,” Qasserras stated.

Throughout the event, educators are introduced to practical strategies and tools designed to help them integrate AI into their classrooms, adapt to technological change, and better support student learning.
