Amir Hamza, the co-founder of the banned militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), survived an assassination attempt in Lahore, Pakistan, on Thursday, 16 April 2026. While returning home after a television appearance, his vehicle was intercepted at Pindi Stop by two gunmen on a motorcycle who opened fire.
Hamza reportedly sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder but survived the ambush. This incident marks the second attempt on his life in less than a year, following a previous shooting in May 2025. He is currently being treated at a hospital, where his condition has been described variously as stable or extremely critical.
