Trump is to right 'to label Antifa as a terrorist organisation'

Anarchist group Antifa is engaging in "text book terrorism" and deserve to be labelled as such, according to Sky News contributor Daisy Cousens.

In the wake of a spate of violent riots across the US, President Donald Trump on Sunday said he will designate Antifa as a "terrorist organisation".

Antifa are a loose collection of groups, who believe in aggressively combating right-wing movements, while claiming to be anti-fascist.

Ms Cousens told Sky News Trump should "absolutely" make good on his promise to label Antifa a domestic terrorist organisation.

"What they do is engaging in violence in the purpose of politics of politics and ideology," she said.

"That right there is terrorism."

"Antifa is not a wholly domestic group.... if he manages to do that, it will open up a whole lot of legal avenues to deal with them."
